Dayu Hu is an Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine and Biological Information Engineering, Northeastern University, Shenyang, China. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Technology from the National University of Defense Technology in 2025. His research focuses on AI for Science (AI4S) and bioinformatics, with strong expertise in clustering analysis, graph learning, and multi-omics data integration. Over the past five years, Dr. Hu has published more than 20 SCI papers in leading journals, including IEEE TKDE, IEEE TIP, IEEE TFS, IEEE TMM, IEEE TGRS, IEEE TCBB, IEEE TCE, and IEEE JBHI, as well as top-tier conferences such as ACM MM and AAAI. He has also contributed to high-impact journals such as Advanced Science, Briefings in Bioinformatics, EAAI, and ESWA. In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Hu serves as a Young Editorial Board Member of Interdisciplinary Sciences – Computational Life Sciences and is an active reviewer for major conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, AAAI, ACM MM) and numerous IEEE Transactions and other leading journals. With his extensive publication record, international visibility, and editorial experience, Dr. Hu is well-qualified to serve as Guest Editor for this special issue, bringing both deep expertise in multi-modal unsupervised learning and broad connections across the global research community.
